Senior Project Engineer - Major Energy Project (FRP Package)
Are you an experienced Project Engineer looking to play a key role on one of Australia's most significant energy infrastructure projects?
Our client is a well-established mid-tier civil contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex, bespoke civil construction projects across Australia. Operating across sectors including highways, bridges, rail, renewable energy and major infrastructure, they successfully deliver projects valued between $5M and $50M, acting as both Principal Contractor and specialist subcontractor.
Following the award of a major FRP package on a once-in-a-generation energy project, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Working on a 2/1 FIFO roster from any major East Coast city, you'll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of this technically challenging package, working closely with the Project Manager and site team to ensure safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives are achieved.

The Role
As Senior Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day engineering delivery of a complex FRP package.
- Planning and coordinating construction activities to meet programme milestones.
- Preparing and reviewing construction methodologies, ITPs, SWMS and technical documentation.
- Managing subcontractors, suppliers and site resources.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Liaising with the client, consultants and wider project stakeholders.
- Managing cost control, forecasting, procurement and reporting.
- Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers within the project team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3+ years' post-graduate experience working as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within the civil construction industry.
- Demonstrated experience delivering major FRP projects.
- Strong technical, planning and commercial awareness.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to thrive within a hands-on, fast-paced mid-tier contractor environment.
- A resilient, driven attitude with the flexibility to work in a remote FIFO environment.
