Job description

We are looking for a Senior Pharmaceutical Officer to work with our client, NSW State Government Department.
  • Role commences on 20th February 2023 
  • 8 Month Maternity Cover
  • Offices are based in St Leonards - Hybrid working role
  • Rate of pay $63.63 per hour + super 
  • 35 hours per week
The Client
Our client provides for the largest health care system in Australia, and one of the largest in the world. Each year, our client cares for millions of people and oversees billions of dollars worth of investment in- patient care, building, equipment, technology and research.

Role responsibilities:

  • Administer the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act and Regulation, including undertaking compliance and enforcement activities toward the objective of protecting public health and safety.
  • Prepare and issue authorities to prescribe and/or supply medicines and poisons under the provisions of the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods legislation in accordance with Quality Regulatory Services timelines.
  • Work cooperatively within and across teams and actively support others to achieve Branch objectives effectively and efficiently.
  • Maintaining accurate knowledge of the diverse and complex medicines regulatory framework, and relationships with other regulatory agencies, including in relation to new approaches and initiatives.
MUST HAVE:
  • Eligibility to work full-time in Australia 
  • The role requires tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline including pharmacology and pharmaceutics and the application of this knowledge in recent clinical practice. Qualifications may include a Bachelor of Pharmacy, registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist, or the ability to demonstrate similar experience.
  • The role requires a high level of organisation to balance workload, priorities and meeting deadlines. The officer must be able to work cooperatively and independently with minimal supervision.
