You will play a key role in delivering accurate cost planning, tender preparation, and project analysis, while contributing to the ongoing success and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Manage the full estimating process from concept through to tender submission
- Conduct cost planning and value engineering to optimise project outcomes
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and clarify scope
- Assess and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Maintain and update cost databases and benchmarks
- Provide input into project planning, feasibility, and risk assessment
- Take ownership of assigned projects and drive them through to completion
- Ensure compliance with Australian standards, building codes, and industry practices
- Proven expertise in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Minimum 5 years’ experience across residential, commercial, and industrial projects ($2M–$100M)
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Membership with a recognised professional body (e.g. AIQS, RICS)
- Strong knowledge of the Australian construction market, including labour, materials, and subcontractor pricing
- Advanced skills in estimating software such as Cubit and CostX
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Excellent analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including a professional phone manner
- A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
