Job description

Our client is a state Government organisation within the Transport sector who have recently identified an urgent need for a Change/Implementation Manager to work on a long term contract basis. The primary purpose of the role is to develop, deliver and drive a change plan to ensure the workforce is engaged in a time of change, ensure a positive team culture is maintained and developed, implement operational changes and work practices.  The role specifically focusses on the people side of the change.
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Under take current state engagement/ feeling analysis among staff.
  • Design a change approach and plan that will give quick wins and long-term change outcomes.
  • Support the management team in implementing and driving change initiatives.
  • Identify specific people change impacts, coach staff and managers through the various phases of change and ensure that stakeholders are ready, willing and able to receive and embed the change.
  • Planning, managing and delivering the day-to-day change activities.
  • Identify and managing change risks.
  • Ensure change is delivered within a structured change management approach and methodology in order to effectively deliver and realise the change outcomes.
  • Identify, develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage communications and develop regular communications updates
  • Proactively identify, monitor and report on issues and/or problems associated with the change and advise on the most effective and sustainable solutions.
 
Key Challenges
  • Develop a good understanding of the operating environment quickly - current and future states, providing assistance to and advice about communication and engagement activities.
  • Delivering transformational change in an organisational environment impacted by varying levels of commitment to change, change fatigue and potential resistance to change
 
 
Selection Criteria 
  • Proven track record in managing and implementing change in a complex blue collar/ industrial environment.
  • Highly organised and collaborative individual with ability to 'hit the ground running' and bring an immediate contribution.
  • Hands-on professional who has extensive knowledge and experience in staff consultation, HR and IR issues
  • Strong ability to coach and support managers in time of change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at various levels including having difficult conversations.
  • An adaptable aptitude who can work on multiple, dissimilar activities simultaneously with a high level of resilience.
  • Proven planning, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues, and guide and/or coach others in the resolution of problems.
