Health & Safety Officer (Contract – Part-Time)
Duration: 2 Months
Engagement: Up to 3 Days per Week
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Officer to support our construction team across multiple active projects. This is a short-term contract role suited to a safety professional who enjoys working in dynamic environments and partnering closely with site teams to drive a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits across multiple projects
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company policies, and site-specific safety plans
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
  • Lead incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions
  • Support site teams with risk assessments and hazard identification
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation
  • Liaise with site supervisors, subcontractors, and management to promote best practice safety outcomes
About You
  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and standards
  • Relevant qualifications in Work Health & Safety (e.g. Certificate IV in WHS or higher)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
