What We Are Looking For

- Site Location: Brisbane CBD & Inner Suburbs (Fortitude Valley)
- Work Type: Full Time
- Classification: Occupational Health & Safety

Key Responsibilities:
- Site Leadership: Oversee daily WHS compliance across the $60M site footprint, conducting regular audits and inspections.
- Culture Driver: Foster an environment where safety is integrated, not just policed—mentoring sub-contractors and site personnel alike.
- Systems Management: Maintain, review, and implement site-specific safety plans in accordance with Kane's strict safety management systems.
- Incident & Risk Management: Lead incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and manage SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements) reviews effectively.
- Stakeholder Management: Work hand-in-hand with the Project Manager and Site Manager to ensure tight construction schedules are met safely.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a WHS/Safety Officer in the Australian commercial construction sector.
- Essential: Demonstrated experience working with a recognized Tier 2 commercial builder.
- Strong understanding of QLD WHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
- Exceptional communication skills—you can navigate a tough conversation on-site just as smoothly as writing a detailed compliance report for senior stakeholders.
- Experience navigating the logistical and safety constraints of high-density inner-city builds (e.g., traffic management, tight site access).
