Safety Adviser | 6-Month Contract | Water Infrastructure Project | QLD
Start Date: 2 Weeks' Time
Duration: 6 Months
Roster: 5/2 DIDO (Monday-Friday with regular Saturday work)
Location: Approximately 2 Hours West of Brisbane
Accommodation: Site accommodation provided by the client
Rate: Competitive Day Rate
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Safety Adviser to join a specialist civil contractor on a recently awarded water infrastructure project in regional Queensland.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established national contractor delivering a complex and technically challenging package of works. Working as part of a small, close-knit project team, you will play a key role in driving site safety performance and ensuring compliance across all project activities.

This bespoke water infrastructure project includes a diverse range of specialist civil construction activities, including:

About the Project

- Ground anchoring
- Slope stabilisation
- Shotcrete works
- Architectural shotcrete
- Foundation piling
Reporting to the Project Leadership Team, you will be responsible for all day-to-day site-based safety activities, including:
- Conducting site inspections and audits
- Facilitating toolbox talks and pre-start meetings
- Monitoring compliance with project safety systems and procedures
- Supporting supervisors and operational teams with safety initiatives
- Incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
- Risk assessments, SWMS reviews and permit compliance
- Assisting with client safety reporting requirements
- Promoting a positive safety culture across the project
About You
To be considered for this position, you will possess:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Safety Adviser within the civil construction sector
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and construction safety practices
- Experience working on large-scale civil infrastructure projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative project team
- Previous experience working for a piling, geotechnical or specialist civil subcontractor
- Exposure to foundation piling, ground engineering, shotcrete or slope stabilisation works
