Job description

My client is seeking an experienced Section 26 Supervisor to join their team for the delivery of a large-scale demolition project at Orebody 25 in Newman, WA.
  
This is an initial 3-month contract with strong potential for extension throughout the project, which is expected to run for approximately 9 months.
  
Working a 2:2 FIFO roster, you'll play a key role in leading crews and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
  
The Role
  
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for supervising demolition activities while maintaining compliance with client requirements, legislative obligations and company safety standards.
  
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and supervising site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Coordinating daily demolition activities and work schedules.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Conducting pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and safety inspections.
  • Managing permits, risk assessments and site documentation.
  • Liaising with client representatives and project stakeholders.
  • Monitoring productivity, quality and project progress.
  • Promoting a positive safety culture and mentoring team members.
  
About the Project
  
The project involves the demolition of redundant infrastructure at Orebody 25 near Newman, including:
  • Conveyor systems.
  • Processing and ancillary buildings.
  • Associated structural and plant assets.
The project is scheduled to commence late August, with onboarding expected to begin approximately four weeks prior to mobilisation. 
 

Skills and Qualifications
  • Current WA Section 26 Statutory Supervisor (exam passed)
  • BHP inducted
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience within mining, demolition, shutdowns or heavy industrial construction.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to safety and risk management.
  • Sound knowledge of mining and demolition work practices.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
