Our Client
 
Our client is a state-wide Government organisation within the Transport sector looking after state assets across road, rail and structures.


Primary purpose of the role
The primary purpose of the role is to lead a small team to identify and investigate root causes when issues arise to ensure no systemic quality issues with management system and to provide a specialist quality control capability in an advanced or specialist trade / engineering discipline. The role is expected to ensure contractual outcomes are being meet and that any decrease to a service is reported and analyzed for risk and performance tradeoffs.

This is an initial 6 month contract role with view of an extension or permanent role. This will be WFH or office based with occasional site visits to view assets.
The projects are all brown field road upgrades from pavements, drainage, utilities and intersections.
 
Key accountabilities

  • Identify and investigate root causes when issues arise to ensure no systemic quality issues with management system.
  • Manage a team of quality assurance officers including day to day work allocation, capability development and performance management to deliver high quality assurance outcomes aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Monitor trends from each Service Provider and concessionaire to enable an appropriate overview of performance and risk from delivery of maintenance and projects.
  • Act as a coordination ambassador for providing evidence to issue quality infringements in line with the management framework including NCPNs and CARs.
  • Contribute to Monthly analysis, evidence and reporting to show risks, performance and trends.
  • Liaise with Contract Relationship Managers and the Directors across the Road Maintenance and Motorway contracts sub branch to provide insights into service providers’ performance and systemic
    issues.
  • Ensure that surveillance records are kept and maintained properly and that field surveillance and daily
    recording is carried out efficiently, maintain site surveillance management plan-tasks, frequency, and
    Monitor surveillance activities.
  • Assure systems and processes for capturing required asset information, according to the terms of the
    contract, to enable TfNSW asset owners to manage asset information and survey and assure quality of delivered works to enable verification of asset outcomes.
Key challenges  
 
  • Navigating significant time and quality pressures while fostering constructive, positive and collaborative relationships within a multidisciplinary team delivering large and/ or complex construction or maintenance works.
  • Operating within the scope of their technical expertise and delegation under minimal supervision to manage complex, multidisciplinary Agency works projects.
  • Fostering constructive, positive and collaborative relationships with multiple Delivery Partners and Agency staff, including other Works Supervisors, to support the achievement of highly complex, specialized project/ contract outcomes.
