Our client is a well-established specialist contractor operating within the commercial interiors and architectural joinery sector. With an in-house manufacturing capability and a strong reputation for quality delivery, they partner with leading builders, fit-out contractors, architects, and end clients across commercial, healthcare, education, government, and institutional sectors.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured projects, an opportunity now exists for an experienced Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
 
About the Role
Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple commercial joinery and interior fit-out packages from project award through to completion.
This role will suit a motivated construction professional with experience managing architectural joinery, commercial interiors, workplace fit-outs, healthcare projects, education facilities, or government projects.
You will oversee project planning, procurement, manufacturing coordination, site delivery, subcontractor management, programme control, stakeholder engagement, and financial performance.
Projects range from high-end corporate offices and commercial tower refurbishments through to healthcare facilities, education environments, and government fit-outs across Sydney and interstate locations.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple commercial joinery and fit-out projects simultaneously
  • Oversee project delivery from design coordination through to final handover
  • Develop and maintain project programmes and construction schedules
  • Coordinate manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and installation activities
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and installation teams
  • Monitor project budgets, variations, forecasting, and financial performance
  • Liaise with builders, consultants, architects, and client representatives
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and contractual obligations
  • Drive project quality outcomes and defect-free delivery
  • Manage risk, safety, and compliance requirements throughout project lifecycles
  • Attend site meetings and provide regular project reporting
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across all project phases

  • Corporate office fitouts
  • Commercial tower lobby refurbishments
  • Reception and front-of-house environments
  • Executive and boardroom joinery
  • Wall panelling and feature timber installations
  • Tea points, kitchens, and breakout areas
  • Custom furniture and bespoke joinery packages

Project values can range from several hundred thousand dollars through to multi-million-dollar interior packages.
 
About You
To be successful in this position, you will possess:
  • Proven Project Management experience within commercial construction, fit-out, interiors, or joinery
  • Strong understanding of architectural joinery and interior fit-out delivery
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
  • Strong commercial acumen and cost management capability
  • Experience managing project programmes and subcontractors
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced project environments
 
Highly Regarded Experience
  • Architectural joinery manufacturing knowledge
  • Commercial office fit-out experience
  • Healthcare, education, or government project exposure
  • Experience delivering projects within live environments
  • Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder project experience
  • Trade qualification in Joinery, Cabinet Making, Carpentry, or a related discipline
  • Construction Management or Project Management qualifications
