Project Manager - Major Electrical Construction Projects (FIFO 2/1)
 
An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading Australian contractor delivering large-scale electrical infrastructure projects across the resources sector.
 
This role is suited to a high-performing project delivery professional with a strong background in major electrical construction works and proven capability managing complex multidisciplinary projects involving SMP and civil interfaces.
 
Offering a long-term permanent position, this opportunity provides exposure to significant resource sector projects, strong executive support, and the ability to take full ownership of major project delivery outcomes.

The Role
 
Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of major electrical construction projects from mobilisation through to commissioning and close-out.
 
You will oversee all aspects of project performance including safety, commercial outcomes, planning, procurement, client management, subcontractor coordination, quality, and project controls.
 
The role requires a confident and commercially astute leader capable of operating within sophisticated Tier 1 and resource client environments while driving strong delivery outcomes across safety, programme, cost, and quality.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery of major electrical construction projects with SMP and civil interfaces
  • Manage project integration across operational, commercial, planning, procurement, quality, and contractual functions
  • Drive project performance across safety, cost, schedule, and quality objectives
  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors
  • Oversee project controls, forecasting, reporting, and commercial performance
  • Manage variations, contractual entitlements, EOTs, disruption, and prolongation claims
  • Ensure effective risk identification and mitigation strategies are implemented
  • Maintain strong governance, compliance, and reporting standards
About You
 
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in senior project delivery roles on major construction projects
  • Strong background in large-scale electrical construction projects
  • Exposure to SMP and civil project interfaces
  • Experience working for leading Australian main contractors and/or Tier 1 delivery environments
  • Strong resource sector project experience
  • Excellent commercial and contractual acumen
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and project controls capability
  • Demonstrated experience managing EOTs, claims, and contract administration
  • Strong leadership and team-building capability
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills
  • Proven commitment to safety leadership and quality outcomes
Essential Requirements
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Previous experience working for leading Australian main contractors
  • Ability to work FIFO 2/1 roster
Formal Project Management qualifications are highly regarded, although substantial major project delivery experience will also be considered.
