About the opportunity

We are working with a client delivering a $8-$10 million civil subdivision project in Byron Bay and require an experienced Project Manager to take the reins immediately. The scope covers utilities, earthworks and road works across a live subdivision environment, with multiple subcontractor packages running concurrently.
This is a contract engagement for 3-4 months offering a competitive daily rate. You'll be on the ground in Byron Bay managing delivery day-to-day, driving programme, cost and quality outcomes from start through to practical completion.

What you'll be doing
  • Leading end-to-end delivery of a civil subdivision project encompassing earthworks, utilities and road construction
  • Managing and coordinating multiple subcontractors across concurrent packages of work
  • Driving project programme, identifying risks and implementing recovery strategies as required
  • Overseeing site safety, quality and environmental compliance in line with project requirements
  • Managing project budgets, cost reporting and forecasting against the $8-$10M contract value
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for client, consultants, subcontractors and Council
  • Chairing progress meetings, preparing reports and maintaining project documentation
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor progress claims, variations and RFIs
What we're looking for
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager on civil subdivision projects — earthworks, utilities (water, sewer, stormwater) and road works essential
  • Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractor packages and hold subcontractors to programme and quality standards
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing projects of $5M+ in value
  • Excellent understanding of subdivision approvals, Council requirements and civil construction compliance
  • Confident communicator capable of managing client and stakeholder relationships
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar (preferred)
  • Immediately available or available on very short notice — ASAP start is essential
  • Ability to be based in Byron Bay for the duration of the contract
What's on offer
  • Competitive daily rate — negotiable depending on experience
  • Immediate start on an active, well-scoped project
  • 3-4 month contract with potential to extend subject to project needs
  • Work in one of Australia's most sought-after regional locations
  • Collaborative team with strong project support structures in place
