Project Manager - Sydney Water Utilities Projects The Company
This Tier 4 civil contractor is well regarded within the utilities sector, known for delivering high-quality projects and retaining top talent. They have recently secured a utility relocation package on a $200M Sydney Water project and are continuing to build their high-performing team.

Projects typically range from $1M-$10M, with a strong focus on self-performing works across utilities and civil infrastructure.

The Role

As an experienced Project Manager, you will take full ownership of the delivery of utilities packages, including relocation of underground services on major Sydney Water projects.

You will lead from the front—managing teams, subcontractors, programme, commercial outcomes, and client relationships to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Responsibilities

• Full project ownership including safety, commercial performance, and delivery
• Manage site teams, subcontractors, and supplier coordination
• Lead planning, programming, and weekly reporting
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and Sydney Water standards
• Drive cost control, forecasting, and project performance
• Mentor and develop engineers and site teams

Skills & Experience

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a Project Manager on utilities / Sydney Water projects
• Strong background in underground services and relocation works
• Experience across civil infrastructure (road, rail, or water)
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
