Project Engineer - Track / Perway required by a highly regarded contractor to work on a high profile railway project.
 
The key responsibility of this position is the coordination of on-site construction engineering activities to achieve project time and budget objectives.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
• Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports
• Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Project Manager
• Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects
• Contribute to improvements to existing designs
• Arrange and oversee the letting of tenders
• Assign work and assist with review for accuracy and adherence to required standards
• Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes
• Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes

 
Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent
• Minimum 5-10 years engineering experience
• Experience on >$10m Projects
• Construction management and specific technical skills base relevant to program of work and discipline area
• Wide level of planning, development and review of complex projects
