Project Engineer - Road Upgrade Project | Central Queensland | 2-3 Month Contract
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Engineer to join a leading National Tier 2 Civil Contractor on a significant road upgrade project in Central Queensland.
This is a site-based contract position commencing in mid-July, offering an attractive day rate and the opportunity to work with one of Australia's most respected civil infrastructure contractors.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day project engineering and delivery activities associated with a road upgrade project being delivered for Transport and Main Roads (TMR).

The successful candidate will oversee a civil subcontractor delivering key project scopes including:
- Bulk earthworks
- Drainage construction
- Concrete works
- Pavement and associated road infrastructure
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day project engineering functions
- Planning and coordinating subcontractor activities
- Monitoring construction progress against programme
- Quality assurance and compliance management
- Cost control and productivity monitoring
- Managing RFIs, ITPs, NCRs and project documentation
- Stakeholder and client liaison
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and to specification
- Supporting the Project Manager with reporting and project delivery requirements
To be considered for this role, you will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate engineering experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience delivering TMR road projects with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil contractor
- Strong understanding of road construction methodologies and TMR specifications
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Availability to commence in mid-July
