Job Description

Our client are a Government wide organisation within the Transport sector who have identified a urgent requirement for a Project Engineer to join  the organisation on a contract basis. The role will involve providing engineering support to the development of the civil scope for the business case of an exciting new program of works which includes:
  • Scope development
  • Management of procurement activities
  • Early works engagements and delivery
Reporting to senior management you will be tasked with to provide assistance with managing the implementation of the project plan to meet scope, time, cost, quality and safety requirements in addition to implementing the project schedule and activities throughout the project life-cycle (including concept design, planning, planning approval, detailed design, tender, construction, commissioning and handover).

You will be also be expected to develop detailed project budget and forecast cash flows/milestones from approved budget, including reviewing and recommending for approval for project costs and variations, monitoring and controlling project costs and reporting on expenditure and addressing any slippage issues.

Selection Criteria: 
  • Proven experience in delivering complex large scale Rail Projects in a Brownfield environment
  • Experience in planning, and delivering projects with a high dependence on possessions and restricted access
  • Experience in working with teams of various size and backgrounds including technical, procurement, commercial, and construction
  • Tertiary qualifications in a Planning, Design, Environmental, Engineering, Construction or Commercial / Business discipline or equivalent experience
  • This role is identified as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW)
