The Opportunity
 
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a National Tier 2 Civil Contractor on an immediate contract basis.
Following a number of recent project wins, our client has an immediate requirement for a Project Engineer to provide site-based engineering support on a newly awarded Earthworks project located approximately 3 hours north of Brisbane.
 
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day project engineering functions on site, working closely with the project team to ensure the successful delivery of the works.
This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with a leading National Tier 2 Contractor, with the potential to build a strong relationship with a well-established civil contractor.

About the Role
 
As Project Engineer, you will provide engineering and technical support across the project, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Supervisors and broader delivery team.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing day-to-day engineering support to the project team
• Managing technical and engineering aspects of the works
• Coordinating subcontractors and suppliers
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Supporting project planning, programming and delivery
• Assisting with quality assurance and quality control
• Managing project documentation and reporting
• Monitoring progress against program and budget
• Assisting with quantities, variations and cost tracking
• Liaising with project stakeholders, consultants and site personnel
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, standards and safety requirements

About You
 
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

• 4+ years' experience as a Civil Project Engineer
• Proven experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Civil Contractor
• Strong Earthworks experience
• Relevant Civil Engineering qualifications
• A strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and project delivery
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work autonomously in a site-based environment
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and project outcomes
