Project Engineer – 3 Month Contract 3-Month Contract | View to Extend | Tier 1 / Tier 2 Builder | Commercial Projects
An established builder is currently looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join their team on a 3-month contract, with a strong view to extend.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer who can hit the ground running and provide immediate support to a busy project team during a particularly demanding period.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder and a strong background delivering commercial building projects.
About the Role You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a commercial building project and managing the full project engineering function from pre-construction through to completion.
You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, subcontractors, consultants and wider project team to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle Project Engineer function on a commercial building project
• Assist with project planning, programming and coordination
• Manage technical documentation, RFIs, shop drawings and design coordination
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
• Assist with procurement and subcontractor management
• Manage quality assurance and project documentation
• Monitor project progress and assist with reporting
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Assist with variations, claims and cost management
• Coordinate inspections, testing and compliance requirements
• Work closely with the Site and Project Management teams to resolve technical issues
• Ensure project requirements, quality standards and deadlines are met
• Assist with project close-out and handover where required

About You To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Project Engineer with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder
• Strong commercial building project experience
• Experience managing the full cycle Project Engineer role
• Strong technical, documentation and coordination skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience working with subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
• A relevant engineering or construction qualification
