Project Engineer
5/2 DIDO Roster | Major Utilities Project | Permanent Opportunity
 
Our client is a well-established mid-tier civil contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex, bespoke infrastructure projects across Australia. Operating across sectors including highways, bridges, rail, renewable energy and utilities, they successfully deliver projects valued between $5 million and $50 million, acting as both Principal Contractor and specialist subcontractor.
 
Following the award of a major utilities upgrade project, they are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
 
Working on a 5/2 DIDO roster from Southeast Queensland, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a complex multidisciplinary package. As Principal Contractor, the business will self-perform the civil works while managing specialist subcontractors delivering the mechanical and electrical packages.
 
The Role
 
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering and project delivery functions, including:
  • Planning and coordinating construction activities
  • Managing subcontractors and supplier performance
  • Programming, scheduling and monitoring project progress
  • Preparing and administering RFIs, ITPs, SWMS and project documentation
  • Cost control, forecasting and reporting
  • Procurement and contract administration
  • Quality assurance and compliance
  • Supporting project safety initiatives and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with client specifications
  • Building strong relationships with the client, consultants and project stakeholders
About You
 
We are keen to speak with motivated Civil or Mechanical Engineers who thrive in a hands-on project environment.
You will ideally possess:
  • Degree qualifications in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-graduate project delivery experience
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary infrastructure or utilities projects
  • Exposure to civil construction packages with an understanding of mechanical and electrical interfaces
  • Previous experience delivering water or water treatment upgrade projects will be highly regarded
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, resilient attitude with the ability to perform in a remote project environment
