Our clients' role is to actively grow and manage the supply of the right types of housing, at the right time, in the right areas, for people in need in our communities.

They manage the largest portfolio in Australia, with over 125,000 properties, valued at $51 billion. Each day, they manage 1,750 requests for maintenance at a cost of $1m per day.

They are currently looking to engage a Programs Officer on a contract basis until February 2023, based at Burwood.
                                                                            
The primary purpose of this role is to support the local administration and delivery of LAHC’s maintenance contract, primarily through the preparation of office estimates and contributing to the development of the Quarterly Program of Works. Issue value for money maintenance orders, improve the performance of the property portfolio with a tenant focused service delivery, co-ordination and delivery of responsive, planned & capital maintenance programs including vacant properties, disabled modification, lawn & grounds cleaning and building essential services providing efficient and effective professional services in delivery of our large maintenance contract

Key accountabilities
  • Develop, implement and manage a planned program of maintenance by analysing Property Assessment Survey (PAS) data, utilising local knowledge to support the organisation’s housing portfolio property maintenance program on allocated properties;
  • Provide both proactive and effective contract administration through the development of office estimates including attend on site (as required) and supporting negotiations with contractors in relation to quotations;
  • Ensure that works are appropriately delivered and that strategies and action plans are put in place to rectify work issues where applicable;
  • Develop scopes of work for exceptional internal activities and statutory and regulatory items such as disability modifications, in collaboration with relevant professionals such as Occupational Therapists as required; and
  • Ensure compliance with the Australian Building Codes, LAHC standards, policies and Contract requirements when issuing work to contractors
Key knowledge and experience
  • Sound building experience or exposure, together with experience in contract administration including preparing quotations or estimates;
  • Knowledge of Contract requirements, standards and policies together with the capacity to interpret and apply Contract requirements, standards and policies;
  • Current working knowledge of the Australian Building Codes; and
  • Intermediate MS Word and Excel with MS Project skills
Essential requirements
  • Post trade Certificate IV or equivalent qualifications or sound work experience in a property related field; and
  • Current Driver’s License.
