Job description

Our client is the operator of rail services across the metropolitan Sydney area. They also operate the Rail Operations Centre and are responsible for the maintenance of assets including tracks, trains, signals, overhead wiring, stations and facilities.

They are currently looking for a Program Manager Fire Safety Statements for a contract role until January 2024. This role will be based at Burwood and WFH.

The role will be accountable for the ongoing analysis, identification and implementation of initiatives for the work stream under the Program, providing regular status updates to the Program Director and leading their team to
successful finalisation of the work stream. The role is a key function and is accountable for ensuring the work stream project deliverables are met, whilst ensuring appropriate engagement and management of key business stakeholders across divisions.

Key deliverables
  • Manage projects ensuring project scheduling, management, initiatives, financial accountability, program framework and governance is met in line with Sydney Trains objectives.
  • Manage the development of program strategies specific to the area of control and champion them with the Program Director and within Sydney Trains so they can contribute to, and coordinate with the strategic operational improvements that Sydney Trains seeks to achieve through translation of ongoing business needs of the organisation.
  • Manage the organisational and change management activities across the work stream in liaison with other senior management and external stakeholders as required.
  • Contribute strongly to the communications strategy and implementation plan for the program, to facilitate engagement of staff and stakeholders.
Essential Skills / Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Program or project management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 and the National Construction Code as it relates to fire safety measures.
