The Company

A consultancy with a large national presence that were established over 50 years ago.  They operate across a number of sectors including Engineering, Environmental and Energy and have a strong presence in the market.

Their Sydney office is led by an engaging and experienced leadership team and is going through an exciting period of growth.  They are looking to add a number of positions to their team and so it is a great time to join an established consultancy that is going through a growth phase that will allow you to accelerate your career.

The Role

One of the main areas of growth for the Sydney team is within their Bridge Group.  Out of all the offices, Sydney currently has the smallest team and they are looking to grow this into the biggest and most profitable in the company.  As part of this strategy, they are looking to appoint a Principal Bridge Design Engineer that will also have responsibilities for team management and playing a key role in the growth of the team.

The Responsibilities

Working with the senior leadership group, you will be empowered to lead and assist in the growth of the Bridge Group.  You will still be hands-on with the design and inspection of bridges, but you will also have team leader responsibilities.  You will be responsible for ensuring that the growth strategy can be implemented and will play a key role in guiding this.

The Requirements

As the successful applicant, you will be able to demonstrate:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Bridge Design Engineer
  • Experience of managing people or ready to take that next step
  • Experience working for an engineering design consultancy in NSW
  • Experience working to RMS codes and standards
  • Bridge inspection experience
  • ARRB inspection accreditation is highly advantageous
  • Full working rights in Australia
