An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established, award-winning design and construction business specialising in bespoke luxury homes and high-end residential renovations across the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West and Shire for the last 10 years.

As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Estimator who is looking for a role that extends well beyond traditional estimating responsibilities.

This is a broad pre-construction position that offers involvement throughout the entire project lifecycle prior to construction commencement.
Working closely with architects, designers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the construction team, you will play a key role in shaping project outcomes during the design and planning stages. Your ability to provide accurate cost advice, practical construction input, and commercial guidance will be critical to the success of each project.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being deeply involved in projects, values collaboration, and takes ownership throughout the pre-construction process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed BOQs, cost plans, estimates, and tender submissions for custom residential projects.
• Provide ongoing cost planning and budget management throughout the design development process.
• Review designs and documentation to identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation.
• Provide advice on construction methodology, buildability, and project feasibility.
• Assist in the preparation of scopes of work, procurement schedules, contracts, and pre-construction documentation.
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing and maintain strong industry relationships.
• Support clients through the pre-construction journey, providing clear communication and guidance.
• Facilitate the smooth handover of projects from pre-construction into delivery.
• Contribute to the ongoing refinement of estimating systems, procedures, and best practices.

About You

• Previous estimating experience within custom residential construction.
• Strong understanding of luxury home builds and major residential renovations valued up to $5m.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and detailed construction documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness combined with practical construction knowledge.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Proficient with estimating software and industry-standard technology platforms.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
