Job description
Our client are a Mid Tier Civil Contractor who are now have a proven reputation of delivering complex projects to the value of $25ml both in QLD and nationally across Australia. They are an Australian owned company who pride themselves on quality delivery outcomes and a working culture unrivaled by any business across the Eastern Seaboard.
They are going through a period of growth and as of such have identified an immediate need for a Payroll Officer to join the team on an initial temporary contract basis with a view to progressing to a full time role based on performance. The role will involve having full accountability for payroll of up to 150 staff both full time and wages and responsibilities include;
The Requirements
To be considered for this role you will come with;
- To provide relevant, accurate and timely financial data processing and analysis of payroll and accounts payable.
- Accounts Payable duties including payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Prepare customer invoices and produce supporting documentation;
- Process supplier invoices for payment in accordance with established procedures
- End to end processing of weekly and fortnightly company payroll for 120 permanent staff and 30 contractors.
- Liaising with staff, management and clients on payroll and invoicing queries.
- Interpreting transfer from awards to EBA.
- Calculation and processing of termination payments.
- Calculating annual leave and LSL provisions/accruals.
The Requirements
To be considered for this role you will come with;
- An understanding of how to interpret relevant Awards, EBA’s, Superannuation, Workcover, Long Service Leave Acts etc,
- Experience in a payroll position.
- Must possess experience working for a civil contractor
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally.
- Driven and self motivated
The role is an initial 6 week contract as a trial period but based on performance and cultural fit this position is certainly a full time role for the right candidate with a business regarded to having one of the highest staff retention rates in construction.
