EOI Project Engineer – Signalling

Summary:

With spend for NSW railway at its highest level ever, I am looking to speak with signalling experts in advance of a massive recruitment drive in 2020 and beyond.

Signalling is one of Sydney’s major investment areas with projects including ATP, Digital Systems, Sydney Metro and MTMS all requiring this rare skillset.
  
Duties & Responsibilities:
  
  • Manage all signalling engineering functions
  • Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications
  • Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary
  • Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
  • Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with the companies authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin
  • Establishing and developing a high-performance team to ensure the project achieves targets
  • Ensuring strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of costs and revenue and taking corrective action as required
  • Ensuring HSE requirements and risk controls are considered in all construction planning and processes
  
Requirements:

  • Demonstrated rail signalling experience on site or with government
  • Demonstrated understanding of NSW based signalling requirements
  • Understanding of contemporary practices in construction methodology on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
  • Contractual, legal, commercial, industrial relations and legislative compliance management
  
Desirable Qualifications:

  • Masters or Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Diploma of Project Management in Engineering
  • Graduate Diploma of Railway Signalling and Telecommunication is desirable
