Job description
Project Engineer – Signalling (6 month contract)
Main contractor in Sydney require an experienced Signalling Project Engineer.
- Ideally you will possess a strong understanding of NSW signalling requirements.

Main contractor in Sydney require an experienced Signalling Project Engineer.
- Ideally you will possess a strong understanding of NSW signalling requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage all signalling engineering functions
- Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications
- Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary
- Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
- Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with the companies authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin
- Establishing and developing a high-performance team to ensure the project achieves targets
- Ensuring strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of costs and revenue and taking corrective action as required
- Ensuring HSE requirements and risk controls are considered in all construction planning and processes
Requirements:
- Demonstrated rail signalling experience on site or with government
- Demonstrated understanding of NSW based signalling requirements
- Understanding of contemporary practices in construction methodology on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
- Contractual, legal, commercial, industrial relations and legislative compliance management
Desirable Qualifications:
- Masters or Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Diploma of Project Management in Engineering
- Graduate Diploma of Railway Signalling and Telecommunication is desirable
