Controls Manager - Corporate (Civil, Resources & Defence Projects)

�� Northern suburbs location (head office based)
�� $200,000 - $270,000 + super (depending on experience)
 
A well-established contractor delivering major infrastructure across civil, resources, and defence sectors is seeking an experienced Controls Manager to join their corporate team.
 
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing project controls across a diverse portfolio, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and performance in planning, cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
 
The Role
 
Reporting into senior leadership, you will:
  • Lead and standardise project controls functions across multiple projects
  • Oversee planning, scheduling, cost control, and performance reporting
  • Drive accurate forecasting and financial governance across the portfolio
  • Support project teams with best-practice systems, tools, and processes
  • Provide strategic insights to improve project delivery outcomes
  • Ensure alignment with contract requirements, risk frameworks, and value engineering principles
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in project controls, cost management, or governance within civil, engineering, or resources sectors
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role managing teams and systems
  • Strong expertise in planning and scheduling, with hands-on use of Primavera P6 and MS Project (essential)
  • Solid understanding of contract conditions, risk management, and value engineering
  • Proven ability to operate at a corporate/portfolio level across multiple projects
