Our client is state Government organisation within the Transport sector who have recently identified an urgent need for a Control Systems Engineer to join the organisation on a long term contract basis to assist in the delivery of a complex rail systems project.

The position is accountable for the verification and validation of internally developed software products to support the delivery and operation of the Sydney Trains ATRICS control systems against specified requirements.

The Control Systems Test Engineer participates in the quality delivery of small Systems tasks and/or contributes to larger, more complex Systems projects in order to support Development Team and Project Managers to meet agreed scope of works in a financially responsible manner meeting the system performance criteria associated with an operational railway.

This position will also be responsible for managing the preparation of technical documentation/specifications for the verification, validation and type approval of key software products used in the operation of Sydney Trains network.

Key challanges to the role will include ensuring the timely delivery of work requests to meet customer expectations against competing priorities and acute resource constraints via constant and accurate communication. As of the nature of the role ad-hoc night shift, weekend shift and extended shift work hours to support site installation and commissioning activities (approximately 6 weekends a year) is required, with travel to various Control Centre, Signal Box and Signals locations is required.
