Contract type: Temporary Location: Hunter Valley, NSW Duration: 3 months Rate: Daily rate (commensurate with experience) Start date: Immediate
About the opportunity
We are working with a leading principal contractor currently delivering a major civil infrastructure project in the Hunter Valley region. We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our clients project team on an immediate-start, 3-month daily rate contract.
This is a great opportunity to work directly for the principal contractor, embedded within the project team and playing a key role in the commercial and contractual management of civil packages of works.

Key responsibilities
- Administer and manage civil infrastructure contracts in accordance with contract terms and conditions
- Manage multiple civil packages of works simultaneously across the project
- Prepare, assess, and respond to progress claims, variations, and extension of time submissions
- Maintain accurate contract registers, documentation, and project correspondence
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve contractual matters
- Support the Project Manager and commercial team with cost reporting and forecasting
- Identify and proactively manage contractual risks, claims, and disputes
- Proven experience as a Contract Administrator on civil infrastructure or heavy construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of AS 4000, NEC, GC21, or similar civil contract forms
- Experience managing civil packages such as earthworks, drainage, pavements, or utilities
- Ability to mobilise quickly and work autonomously in a fast-paced project environment
- Available to commit to the Hunter Valley for the full duration of the engagement
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline (desirable)
