Short-Term Contract | Brisbane CBD | Competitive Hourly Rate
We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join a Tier 1 main contractor on a short-term contract basis, supporting the start-up phase of a recently awarded major water pipeline infrastructure project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to play a key role during the early stages of a complex and high-profile infrastructure project, helping establish the engineering requirements and delivery framework before construction gets underway.
The Role
Based in the contractor's Brisbane CBD office, you will provide engineering support throughout the initial project start-up phase.

The Role

- Developing detailed scopes of work for upcoming project packages.
- Providing engineering input into project planning and mobilisation activities.
- Reviewing project requirements, specifications and technical documentation.
- Supporting the development of procurement and subcontractor packages.
- Assisting with constructability reviews and identifying potential project risks.
- Coordinating with internal engineering, commercial, procurement and project delivery teams.
- Resolving technical issues and providing practical engineering solutions.
- Undertaking other engineering activities required to establish the project for successful delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Civil Project Engineer with a strong background in the delivery of complex civil construction projects.
You will ideally have:
- 6+ years' post-graduation experience in civil construction.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience working through the start-up or mobilisation phase of a project is essential.
- Experience developing scopes of work, technical documentation and procurement packages.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to identify what needs to be done and take ownership.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
