Job description
We are looking for a Category Manager to join our client, an NSW State government agency, on a contractual basis.
The role provides strategic category expertise and direction to sourcing, contract management, and procurement teams on sourcing and supply strategy and, where required, leads high-value, complex contract and commercial
negotiations.
Key accountabilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain category strategies and plans to deliver sustainable social outcomes and value for money and meet organisational needs.
• Proactively seek out, identify, explore and advise on opportunities to improve commercial, operational, social and risk mitigation outcomes across the category.
• Apply key risk management principles throughout strategies and plans to proactively identify, mitigate,and manage new and emerging risks.
• Manage the development, monitoring and maintenance of category performance dashboards and reports, spend segmentation, categorisation strategies and frameworks across the category spend.
• Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement and the procurement category to encourage innovative practices, support the delivery of business and policy directions and guide better data and insights-driven decisions across the category.
• Work with contract and commercial management teams to monitor supplier performance, delivery to initiative plans and benefits realisation to initiative plans and strategies.
• Lead cross-functional teams to achieve a high level of performance, integration and consistency in procurement across the category.

MUST HAVE:
- Eligibility work full-time in Australia
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly essential
Demonstrated high-level knowledge of investigative analysis - A good understanding of civils and construction procurement needs
