About the Business and the Role

Our client is a well-established commercial HVAC service provider operating throughout metropolitan Sydney. Working discreetly within some of the city's premier commercial buildings, the business delivers comprehensive HVAC maintenance solutions, strategic system management and responsive technical support for air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical services.

In line with an ambitious expansion plan, the business is looking to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead growth of their HVAC service contract portfolio across Sydney CBD and the broader metropolitan region.

This is a strategic, growth-focused position centered on winning long-term preventative maintenance and HVAC service agreements within the commercial property sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pursue and win new preventative maintenance and HVAC service contracts throughout Sydney's commercial property landscape
  • Build and nurture strong working relationships with asset managers, property managers, building engineers, facilities managers and mechanical services coordinators
  • Create new business opportunities via networking, referrals, industry participation and targeted prospecting activities
  • Oversee tender responses, pricing approaches and contract negotiations alongside operations and estimating colleagues
  • Transition ad-hoc breakdown repairs and reactive HVAC callouts into ongoing planned maintenance partnerships
  • Design and deliver capability presentations, commercial proposals and HVAC service solutions aligned with client requirements
  • Manage a robust opportunity pipeline and provide regular reporting on sales activity, forecasting and conversion performance
  • Facilitate seamless contract commencement and ensure client expectations align with operational capacity
  • Contribute to broader growth strategy and market positioning discussions
Required Skills and Experience
  • At least 5 years' business development experience in HVAC, air conditioning, mechanical services or building services
  • Proven track record winning long-term HVAC service agreements in the commercial property space
  • Existing network and relationships across Sydney CBD and metropolitan property markets, particularly with building engineers and facilities management teams
  • Solid grasp of HVAC preventative maintenance contracts, system lifecycle principles, compliance frameworks and relevant Australian Standards
  • Commercially minded with capability to structure and negotiate multi-year HVAC service deals
  • Assured communicator with strong presentation abilities and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with senior leadership
  • Consistent track record of achieving or surpassing revenue objectives
  • Valid driver's licence
