We are looking for an experienced admin support officer who has an extensive background in providing administrative support to a large organisation.
Our client is the leading provider of vocational education and training in Australia. They provide an extensive range of courses and qualifications to suit everyone from school leavers to career changers and businesses.
The primary purpose of the role:
The business support officer provides effective administrative, project and office services support to facilitate the smooth operation of the business unit and the delivery of its services. They will be supporting our clients teaching section with administrative tasks, as well as answering student inquiries, therefore a customer service background within government is ideal.
Role responsibilities:
- Contract opportunity with NSW State Government until 30th June 2023
- Full-Time role based in Strathfield
- Earn $33 -$36 per hour + super
- Immediate start with a high possibility of extension
- 37.5 hours per week

Role responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical services to support the work of staff in the team.
- Manage incoming phone and email inquiries in a high volume environment from both students and teachers
- Maintain student records and process student documentation
- Maintain the TRIM computerised record management system and coordinate the creation, storage, retrieval and archiving of files to ensure the accurate and safe storage of information and its compliance with Departmental policy.
- Work comfortably in a team with teachers and support staff in an open plan environment with around 250 staff working across the site
- Exercising sound judgement to ensure that competing for work priorities in a high volume environment are met within agreed and often demanding timeframes.
- Responding to a high volume of enquiries from a broad range of internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- A valid Working with Children Check - we will not accept candidates without this.
- Eligibility to work full-time (37.5 hours/week)
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential, prior government experience is desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must as you will be communicating directly with students from diverse and NESB backgrounds
- Proficient computing skills essential in Outlook, Excel and Word.
